Global Media Communication examines the international issues of media ownership, censorship, cultural influence and global reach of the media, from newspapers to new technology. The class will examine theories of information flow and media colonialism. There will be a concentration on the influence of news and advertising on regional populations, with visits to a number of media industries and outlets in London.
