Description : Service Learning projects that partnered with an OPS school presented their semester's research at the UNO OPS Joint Research Symposium. Students from UNO, Burke High School, and Northwest High School presented poster style to an audience covering topics such as plastic bag use, food insecurity, and environmental issues.

Description : UNO students from Instructor Rita Shaughnessy's Fundamentals of Public Speaking course and League of Women Voters will host a workshop for young women from Omaha High Schools. The workshop will introduce them to the political process and possibly encourage them to run for office one day by inviting locally elected women officals to share their experiences and allowing the young women to practice developing a mock political campaign.

Description : King Science 6th graders will be focusing on the GI system. The UNO students will help communicate about health and how physicians talk about health through fundamental literacy. The UNO Students will help the 6th graders with research ideas and assist with how to properly research. The 6th graders will be coming up with a project to assist No More Empty Pots. They are just starting a "meal on wheels" for people living with cancer. The 6th graders will help educate them about healthy foods.

Description : UNO students from Professor Mariana Cruz’ Introduction to ESL course will work with families from the Learning Community Center (LCC) of South Omaha. The UNO students will be assigned a family to work with over the course of six weeks to build a trusting relationship. The students will prepare lessons and activities around topics of college readiness, including Financial Aid, scholarships, scheduling, advisors, and campus living, to familiarize families with the higher education system in the United States. Sessions held at the UNO Dodge and Scott Campuses will include student-lead campus tours for LCC families to experience a glimpse of campus life.

Description : Students from Professor Farrah Grant's Intro to Sustainability Course are parterned alongside students from Omaha Bryan High School to learn and discover the means to create a sustainable food environment within the Omaha Area. UNO students will meet with No More Empty Pots and will visit Omaha Bryan's state of the art agricultural center. Both student groups are collaborating online throughout the semester to discuss their findings and research questions.
