Description : UNO students hired as Collaborative interns are matched with community organizations, Students are paid through the grant-funded program. Nonprofits coordinate meaningful work for interns to benefit the student experience in different ways. Students typically intern during the fall and spring semesters and may serve the same organization for more than one academic year. Each unique student that works as a Collaborative intern with this specific community partner is identified within this project.

Description : UNO speech-language pathology (SLP) graduate students had the opportunity to engage in a service learning project encompassing interdisciplinary collaboration with Creighton occupational therapy (OT) students. UNO and Creighton students designed activities for participants on the autism spectrum to build upon various gross motor and speech skills during the Autism Society of Nebraska (ASN) Winter Festival. UNO graduate students applied knowledge gained through course content and presentations to this project.

Description : MACCH had an ongoing partnership with MavPR from 2015-2019. Our partnership with Professor Karen Weber led to revisions to MACCH’s website and a redesign of MACCH’s logo. Upon logo redesign, the partnership included the development of marketing materials (brochure, “5 Facts” card, business cards, and a display banner). MavPR also provided ongoing engagement with local news media, created numerous press releases, and began the development of videos for future use on MACCH’s website.

Description : Physical education pedagogy majors, elementary teachers, and recreation leaders understand the fundamentals of a variety of rhythmic and creative dance activities. Description : From 2014 to 2019, WELLCOM (now The Wellbeing Partners) has had a total of 13 UNO student interns. Each student received credit toward their degree and the nature of the internship was distributed between administrative, programmatic, and research. UNO student interns worked side by side with the professional staff learning the fundamentals of worksite wellness, as well as completed a unique semester-long project that provided benefit to the student and the organization.

Description : In this impactful community project, students engage with the local community to teach children different themes. This year's theme is "What can you be?" focusing on professions and careers. Students actively connect with over 200 people from the community through a local educare center, fostering an inclusive environment where families and children have the chance to play and explore together. Description : From 2017 to 2019, UNO doctoral candidate in the CPACS Public Administration interned with Live Well Omaha Kids. The doctoral student created a collective impact measurement strategy and created an organizational theory of change. Live Well Omaha has also done contract work with this student post-graduation.

Description : Worked with the Career & Student Services Associate from the School of Public Administration to secure a student volunteer, resulting in more than 100 volunteer hours. Volunteer experience from the student turned into an internship for credit the following semester.
