Description : UNO Education students in Dr. Sandra Rodriguez-Arroyo's TED 8130: Language, Culture, and Power course work with youth from Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands to create presentations about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on language, culture, and power. Through the project, the students build relationships with each other in virtual meeting rooms by participating in activities and small group discussion. The goal of the interactions is to empower the Boys & Girls Club students in developing their own voice and power while UNO students receive firsthand experience in discussing and applying course topics and frameworks. Description : UNO students enrolled in Whitney Gent CMST 4510: Persuasion and Influence will work with multiple partners. This project will focus on working with community partners whose primary mission is to work with those in the community who are experiencing poverty.  Students will use theories learned in class along with research to provide an analysis of partner campaigns or website content to provide feedback for improvement.

Description : On four subsequent Tuesdays beginning 9/21/21, UNO and Blackburn students will work together to identify how Blackburn (and Big Muddy) can reduce landfill waste/plastic use in our environment from lunch waste. It will start with UNO students conducting a "waste sort" on the UNO campus, then visit Blackburn to teach and go through the process with students. The goal is to include Big Muddy in the process and help them identify their areas of waste. SUST 1000 (001, 002) P-16 Project

Description : Students enrolled in Andrea Grover ISQA 8600: From Data to Decisions, will work with data provided by Heartland Family Services to develop meaningful, decision-focused data analyses based on the interests of the organization and the students' abilities. At the end of the semester, students will present their results and provide the organization with access to all data analysis artifacts (scripts, derived data sets, visualizations, etc.).

Description : Students enrolled in Laura Alexander course RELG 2020: Introduction to Religion will work with the Tri-Faith center. The project is built around service in the Tri-Faith orchard, integrated with learning about intersections between space and land use, interreligious dialogue, sustainability, and concern for human rights. In the classroom, the students will study topics including indigenous rights and land as well as human rights in general.

Description : Graduate students in Dr. Tolliver’s School Counseling Groups course will work with students from Millard North Middle and other students in the community as they conduct a variety of counseling groups. Through this service learning project, student will be prepared to effectively incorporate small group design, implementation, and assessment as part of a school counseling program. Description : Students enrolled in Roma Subramanian's course JMC 3230: Principles of PR will pick a community partner with whom they'll work throughout the semester. They will meet a minimum of three times over Zoom or in-person, if the community partner and the student agree on. Students will work individually to create a PR strategy that meets the community partner's needs. The PR Strategy will be presented by the student and the video will be shared to the community partner by the end of the semester.
